European Foundation for Slavic Script and Culture

On September 24, 2023, the III book festival “Library “Slavica 2023” took place in the Slavic Court of Slavica (the village of Aleksince, near the city of Nitra, Slovakia).
The exhibition featured books by Slovak publishers and authors, including the outstanding ancient Russian work “The Tale of Igor’s Campaign.”

People in Europe celebrate the European Day of Languages every year on 26 September since 2001. 

The main aim of this event is to encourage Europeans to learn foreign languages, regardless of their age or life situation.

On September 19, the European Foundation for Slavic Literature and Culture received a donation of books from Belarusian and Slovak publishing houses from diplomats of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Slovakia.

The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary is one of the most important holidays in the Orthodox calendar; it belongs to the twelve (one of the twelve main ones). This day is important for all Christians - it is with it that the church new year begins.
The holiday was established in the 5th century. The Holy Scriptures do not tell about this event; the apocrypha reports about the birth of the Mother of God. Until today, it has not been established exactly in what area the Virgin Mary was born. This could have happened in Jerusalem or Nazareth.

On September 18, 2023, in honor of the birthday of Konstantin Eduardovich Tsiolkovsky, the thematic event “Konstantin Tsiolkovsky – dreams of space” was held at the European Foundation of Slavic Literature and Culture.
K. E. Tsiolkovsky is an outstanding Russian scientist in the field of aeronautics, aviation and astronautics, the founder of theoretical cosmonautics. His developments marked the beginning of the space age.

September 9 marks the 195th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Russian writer, publicist, and thinker - Leo Tolstoy. 

Leo Tolstoy was born in 1828 in Yasnaya Polyana in the Tula region, where he spent a significant part of his life. He lived in various Russian cities, and visited France, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, and Britain, but always returned to his native land. He drew inspiration and created works there. His works continue to be shown on the world's screens and are the basis for famous theatres.
