Slovak cosmonaut Ivan Bella will present a series of books "Slovakia from above"

A total of 40 books from the “Slovakia from above” series, published over two pandemic years, will be presented on May 7 at the air show in Piestany by the first Slovak cosmonaut Ivan Bella. As the aerial photographer and author of the book series idea Milan Paprchka informed, Bella will symbolically sprinkle the books with aviation fuel.

“Books published in the last two years could not be solemnly presented to the book world due to pandemic restrictions. I am very glad that my friend, the first Slovak cosmonaut Ivan Bella, has taken on the role of the godfather of my brainchild,” Paprchka said. Here are some titles from the book series under the heading “From Heaven”: “Children and its environs”, “Glohovec”, “Trnava”, “Rimavska Sobota”, “Senec”, “Komarno”, “Gelnica and Sabinov”.

The book presentation is scheduled for the opening of the Aviation Festival. Two special Slovak-made Viper SD-4 photoplanes, which are used for aerial photography of the panoramas of Slovakia, the Czech Republic and neighboring countries, will also be presented at the air show. Aerial photographs were also taken from them, which can be found in the books “Slovakia from Heaven”. Also, readers will be able to meet with members of the author's and aviation teams.
