Chekhov's work was discussed at an art lesson at the Russian Center in Bratislava

On November 16, 2021, at the Russian Center in Bratislava at the European Foundation of Slavic Literature and Culture, art lesson was held, dedicated to the work of the Russian writer and playwright Anton Pavlovich Chekhov “Reading A.P. Chekhov in Russian ...”.

The works of A.P. Chekhov are of particular interest to foreign readers and are an integral part of programs for teaching the Russian language to foreign students.

Students and teachers of the private Slavic gymnasium in Bratislava became guests and participants of the meeting.

At the beginning of the meeting, the teacher of Russian as a foreign language, Doctor of Philology Yulia Pogrebnyak introduced the children to a short biographical sketch of the writer, demonstrated documentary photographs of important stages in the life of a genius.

An experienced teacher in a fascinating way, using the example of short excerpts from the works of Anton Pavlovich Chekhov, was able to reveal to the students the diversity of his works, to determine the main feature of the writer's style - brevity.

The analysis of the stories "Chameleon", "Thick and Thin" aroused particular interest. The attention of the students was drawn to Chekhov's ability to accurately and subtly portray the character of the heroes.

The teacher finished the conversation about Chekhov with the words of the writer himself "Everything should be beautiful in a person: face, clothes, soul, and thoughts" and wished the students to become such people as Chekhov wanted to see his readers.
