Online open lesson in Russian language and culture on the topic "Maxim Gorky"

On March 28, 2020, the Russian Center of the European Foundation of Slavic Literature and Culture in Bratislava held an open lesson on the Russian language and culture, dedicated to the life and works of the Russian writer Maxim Gorky, who was born in March 152 years ago.

A whole group of students and listeners of Russian language courses gathered for an online lesson. They all missed communicating in Russian and did not want to take breaks in their studies.

First of all the participants got acquainted with the main milestones of the biography of the writer, his many associates and friends, talked about his works. The presentation of the writer was presented on the screen and video plots also were shown. Then a quiz was conducted.

Participants had to answer a number of questions at the end of the lesson. How was Maxim Gorky connected with Lenin and Stalin? Why was he called the "Main proletarian writer"? For how many times the writer has been nominated for a Nobel Prize? How did he meet the great Russian writer Lev Tolstoy? Which of the foreign writers did Gorky host in his country house?

The winner of the quiz was noted with friendly remarks and applauses!
