On the 15th of November 2017, the Chairman of the Parliament of the Slovak Republic, Andrey Danko, during an official visit to Moscow, visited the Representation of the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia in Moscow, the Patriarchal Metochion of the Temple of St. Nicholas in Kotelniki. On the 16th of November 2017 in St. Petersburg was opened the VI International Cultural Forum. For six years, the forum has evolved from a small conference into a grand cultural event.

This year the forum was attended by 79 countries, including Slovakia. Japan and Kazakhstan at the same time had a special status of "guest country". There were registered 34 thousand participants on the forum in total.

In November 2017, Andrey Danko visited Moscow for the first time on an official visit as a chairman of the National Council of the Slovak Republic. He had previously repeatedly expressed the need to restore normal relations between the European Union and Russia and opposed the anti-Russian sanctions.

 

  On the 10th of November 2017 in Bratislava, the Third Scientific and Practical Conference of Rusists "Modern Russian Language as a Foreign Language in School: New Trends" was held.

The conference was organized by the Association of Rusists of Slovakia with the support of the Embassy of the Russian Federation.
