The Evening dedicated to the 165th anniversary of the birth of the Russian writer N.G. Garin-Mikhailovsky

On the 23d of March, 2017 in the Russian Center in Bratislava, at the European Foundation of Slavic Writing and Culture was held an evening on the theme "Russian writer, engineer and traveller N.G. Garin-Mikhailovsky ", dedicated to the 165th anniversary of his birth.

The evening was opened with the interesting story by Russian stage director Andrei Konchalovsky about the great man - Nikolai Garin-Mikhailovsky. The film was shown on the screen.

Running in a vicious circle

Terrorism once again made itself known. The tragedy this time took place in the heart of London. On the 22d of March in the afternoon the car deliberately drove to the sidewalk of Westminster Bridge and began to crush passersby, and then turned to the building of the British Parliament and crashed into the fence of Westminster Palace. As a result, 4 people were killed and about 40 injured. Again, as in the case of previous similar acts of terrorism, ISIS, which is banned in Russia and in many other countries, took responsibility for this terrorist act.

Seminar on Russian Language and Culture "History and Architecture of the Moscow Kremlin"

On the 16th of March 2017 at the Russian Center in Bratislava at the European Foundation of Slavic Literature and Culture was held a seminar on "The history and architecture of the Moscow Kremlin", dedicated to its 530th birthday. The seminar was conducted for students of Russian language courses with the purpose of expanding vocabulary and their acquaintance with Russian history and culture.

The regular EU summit, which took place on 9-10 March 2017 in the new building of the headquarters of the Council of the European Union in Brussels, has attracted special attention, since the agenda raised the issue of preserving the European project. In many respects this depends on how the EU will cope with the consequences of “Brexit” and two serious challenges: terrorism and uncontrolled migration. Exhibition of books "History of Russia by the eyes of contemporaries"

On the 22d of February 2017 in the Russian center of Bratislava, at the European Fund of Slavic Literature and Culture, was held an exhibition of books on the subject of "History of Russia by the eyes of contemporaries."

The exposition was composed of books, widely represented in the library of the Russian Center on the subject. Perfectly published tomes...

Cooperation with the University Ca 'Foscari in Venice

the 20th of February 2017 the European Fund of Slavic Literature and Culture signed a cooperation agreement with the State University of Ca 'Foscari in Venice, Italy.

The university was founded in 1868. It is located in the palace Ca 'Foscari, from which the university took its name and was erected in Venetian Gothic style. Palace of Ca 'Foscari is located near the Grand Canal in the heart of Venice, near Saint Mark's Square. Since 2011, at the University Ca 'Foscari there is a Center for the Study of Russian Culture.
