Talent Without Borders

On August 5, another inspiring creative meeting took place between representatives of the European Fund for Slavic Literature and Culture (EFSLC) and the renowned Bratislava photographer Rudolf Bihári.
Rudolf Bihári is not only a master of his craft but also a mentor to a new generation of talented photographers. Under his guidance, the KOLIBA photo club operates, consisting of children from Jeséniova Primary School. The school provides the students with a technically equipped base, and the young photographers proudly represent it at competitions across Slovakia. Despite their ages ranging from six to sixteen, the club’s members produce remarkably mature and artistic works. Many of them already envision their future in photography or other creative fields.
During the meeting, Rudolf Bihári visited the Aircraft Gallery, where he highly praised the photo exhibition “Russia. Unique Regions and People,” curated by art director Julia Krasulya. The master expressed admiration for the quality of the exhibition and shared his impressions of the photographers’ work.
A significant outcome of the meeting was Bihári’s decision to donate approximately 60 of his students’ best photographs to the gallery for display. Some of these images will be included in a series of banners for the exhibition “My Slovakia,” currently being prepared by the EFSLC.
This initiative opens new opportunities for cultural exchange and the support of children’s creativity.
