On the eve of Pushkin Day and Russian Language Day, traditionally observed on June 6, representatives of the European Foundation for Slavic Literature and Culture (EFSLC), along with teachers from the Russian Center at EFSLC, met with their long-standing partners—representatives of the Russian editorial team of Radio Slovakia International.
The meeting took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere at the editorial office. The Foundation’s Vice-President, Natalia Yadrishnikova, congratulated the journalists on the holiday, expressing gratitude for their longstanding cooperation and support of the Russian language and culture in Slovakia and worldwide. Letters of Appreciation from the Foundation were presented to editors Tatiana Zhitnikova, Alena Ganyova, and Irina Sechikova. In memory of the meeting, the editorial team was also gifted an album published by the Foundation, *The Russian Icon*.
The Foundation’s Art Director, Yulia Krasulya, introduced the radio staff to the exhibition project *Russia: Unique Regions and People*, discussing its creation and content. Part of the exhibition will be displayed in the radio station’s foyer, providing a broad audience with the opportunity to explore the richness of Russia’s cultural and natural heritage.
Additionally, as part of the Russian Language Day celebrations, the European Foundation for Slavic Literature and Culture organized a thematic exhibition at the Aircraft Gallery. The exposition includes publications dedicated to the life and works of Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin, as well as modern Russian language textbooks for foreign audiences.
The events held were part of an international initiative to promote the Russian language and culture, as well as to strengthen cultural ties between Russia and Slovakia.
