European Day of Languages in Bratislava

On 26.09.2016 in Bratislava on one of the main squares of the city was held the European Day of Languages, which is carried out for 16 years on the initiative of the Council of Europe. The main purpose of the event is to support the motivation of Europeans to learn foreign languages not only in schools and universities, but also throughout their lives.

Battle for Sevastopol

The breakout of the war shatters the world of a young student, Lyudmila Pavlichenko, forcing her to enlist in the army in 1941. The maiden turns out to be a natural-born sniper, her impressive skill and prowess make her stand out among men and women alike. Seeing Pavlichenko as a tangible threat, the German High Command gives orders to eliminate the girl whatever the cost. In the meanwhile, Lyudmila meets a man and falls in love. War fades into the background... Soon, however, another misfortune befalls Lyudmila leaving the man she loves on the brink of death and herself seriously wounded. The girl is pulled out of combat and later goes to the United States with a publicity visit. Eleanor Roosevelt welcomes Lyudmila in the White House and the two women soon become close. It won't be long before Pavlichenko stands before an audience in Chicago pressing for a second front. Will her words have the capacity to change the course of war?

The Candle of memory

In Slovakia were held events in the memory of the Sovietsoldiers-liberators.

The 22d of June, 1941 is a tragic day in thehistory of our country. On this day, the Great Patriotic War had started. Itlasted for 1,418 days and nights, and killed 26.6 million Soviet citizens - military personnel and civilianswho died from hunger, cold, bombing, mass genocide which had been conducted bythe invaders on the Soviet territory. Since 1996, the first day of the war wasdeclared  as a memorable date - "Dayof Remembrance and Sorrow"

4th and 5th July 2016 in the historic Slovak city of Nitra ranking eighth place in the International Folklore Festival "Slavica", which was within the city celebration of the feast "Nitra, dear Nitra".

July 5th is a holiday farmhouse in Slovakia, dedicated to the creator of the Slavic alphabet and Church Slavonic language, the Prior Christian Cyril and Methodius. Already every year these days in their honor held festival "Slavica" in Nitra, the city where he began his mission.

30.06.2016 in the exhibition hall of the Aircraft Art Gallery in Bratislava was opened a unique art exhibition of Russian authors "June. 22. On the side of the Human" dedicated to the tragic date of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War.
