Great Victory songs

On May 5, 2020, Russian compatriots recorded a video plot dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory over fascism.

A student of the Komensky University, Valeriya Melnikova sang one of the most moving war songs to the verses of the Russian poet Mikhail Isakovsky, “Ogonek” (Spark), which was written by him in 1942. Photographer Natalya Starikova captured this performance.

A unique place was chosen for the performance of the song - the Slavin Memorial Complex in Bratislava, where 6,845 Red Army soldiers, who died for the liberation of Slovakia in 1945, are buried.

In the context of the coronavirus pandemic, the "Russian World" Foundation supported the initiative of the Immortal Regiment of Russia and organized the International "Songs of Great Victory" contest on social networks with hashtags #ПесниВеликойПобеды, #GreatVictorySongs, as well as accompanying hashtags #GreatVictory75, #OneVictoryForAll, #NobodyForgotten.

The Russian center of the European Foundation of Slavic Literature and Culture directs this video plot to participate in the contest
