“Lesson of Victory” online

Dear Colleagues!

In the context of restrictive measures to combat the spread of coronavirus, the Russian Center of the European Foundation of Slavic Literature and Culture offers Russian-language online open lessons for students in Slovak schools and gymnasiums.

In this year of the 75th anniversary of the Victory in World War II, the “Lesson of Victory”, which is dedicated to the Year of Memory and Glory, is proposed. The lesson topics include the historical chronicle of the Slovak National Uprising, the" Bratislava-Brno" Red Army offensive operation on the liberation of Slovakia, materials on the liberation of Bratislava and the role of the Danube Flotilla.

The lessons are accompanied by photo and video materials, including unique archival documents that the Russian Ministry of Defense has declassified for the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Bratislava.

The purpose of such lessons is to preserve historical memory among the younger generation, to foster a sense of pride for their country, to let schoolchildren understand the role and significance of the Great Victory for the fate of all mankind.
