In memory of Professor Eva Kollárová

The European Foundation for Slavic Literature and Culture deeply regrets to announce the passing of the distinguished scholar, Professor Eva Kollárová, who has left us forever. She was a remarkable, energetic, and inspirational personality who left an indelible mark on Slavistics and on the promotion of the Russian language in Slovakia.

Professor Kollárová was the soul and driving force behind the Association of Russian Scholars of Slovakia, a diligent coordinator and participant in important projects aimed at advancing Russian studies in Slovakia. Her boundless enthusiasm, dedication to her work, and profound love for the Russian language and culture inspired not only her colleagues and students, but all those fortunate enough to have worked with her.

She actively organized and initiated numerous events, conferences, forums, seminars, and meetings, including the International Forums of Russian Scholars held under the auspices of the Association of Russian Scholars of Slovakia. Thanks to her efforts, the Association became a significant platform for professional discussion, cooperation, and mutual support among Russian scholars not only in Slovakia, but across other European countries as well.

Among her many activities, a special place was held by her role as chief editor of the scientific and methodological journal Russian Language in the Heart of Europe. This journal became an important hub for sharing experiences, scientific research, and methodological work in the field of teaching Russian as a foreign language.

The European Foundation for Slavic Literature and Culture highly values the invaluable contribution of Professor Kollárová to the development of Russian studies in Slovakia, as well as her dedication to preserving and promoting Russian culture and language. We extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, colleagues, and members of the Association of Russian Scholars of Slovakia.
