The Russian Word Resonates in Slovak Schools
Every year, Slovakia hosts the nationwide competition "The Russian Word." This remarkable event brings together enthusiasts of the Russian language and culture. Participants compete in various categories, including poetry, prose, solo and group singing. The selection process takes place across different regions, and the participants' ages range from 6 to 20 years. Additionally, there is a special category for teachers and parents. One of the unique features of the competition is a separate nomination for Russian-speaking participants!
This year, around 200 talented participants from all over Slovakia will gather in February for the final round in the city of Košice. The event is organized and sponsored by the Union of Russians in Košice.
