The Kaluga Icon of the Mother of God is a miraculous icon of the Mother of God revered in the Orthodox Church. The main shrine of the Kaluga diocese, is considered the patroness of Kaluga and the Kaluga land.Iconography: The Most Holy Theotokos is depicted alone, without the Divine Infant, in dark robes, reminiscent of monastic ones, with an open book in her right hand (on some images there is a mirror image - a book in her left hand). The gaze of the Mother of God is fixed on the text of the book.
