St. Anne's Day on July 26

Saint Anna (Saint Anne, also Ann or Anna, from the Hebrew Hannah) - in Christianity, the mother of the Virgin, the grandmother of Jesus Christ (the Mother of God), the wife of St. Joachim (St. Joachim), who miraculously gave birth to a daughter after many years of childless marriage.

Saint Anne is addressed as the protector of pregnant women. In the Orthodox and Catholic churches, she is canonized as a saint.

A festive event "Peace to Children!" dedicated to the International Children's Day was held in Bratislava

On May 29, 2022, the European Foundation of Slavonic Literature and Culture and the Foundation of Ukrainian Literature and Culture held a festive event "Peace to the Children!", dedicated to the International Children's Day. Its participants were children aged 6 to 12 with their parents.
International Children's Day is celebrated annually on June 1 in more than 30 countries and is one of the oldest international holidays.

"Outstanding Ukrainian women who will be remembered forever"

Recently, the Foundation of Ukrainian Literature and Culture in Bratislava opened an exhibition of books on the topic: "Outstanding Ukrainian women who will be remembered forever."

The exposition is represented by a set of books by Ukrainian writers from the library fund of Ukrainian literature and culture, as well as photographs of prominent Ukrainian women, who not only left their mark on history, but became an example for many generations.

At the exhibition, teachers, children and guests of the foundation recalled the outstanding writers of the past, got acquainted with contemporary writers of Ukraine and were inspired by worthy examples of famous Ukrainian women.

"Ukrainian writers for children"

April 12, 2022 in the Fund of Ukrainian Literature and Culture in Bratislava, an exhibition of books on the subject: “Ukrainian writers for children” was opened. The opening of the exhibition was attended by children who arrived from Ukraine, teachers and guests of the foundation.
The exposition is represented by a large set of books on this subject from the library from Fund of Ukrainian Literature and Culture. Ukrainian literature has come a long way of development in order to reach the level that exists at the moment. Ukrainian writers have contributed throughout time. And it must be said that modern Ukrainian writers are very different from the authors who laid the foundation for Ukrainian literature. But one thing has remained unchanged - the love of the native language.

Sociocultural classes for children of refugees and displaced from Ukraine

On March 18, 2022, employees of the European Foundation of Slavic Literature and Culture and the Foundation of Ukraininan Literature and Culture met children from Ukraine within their walls for the next socio-cultural adaptation classes.

Classes with children who came with their parents from Ukraine are held in cooperation with the Private Slavic Gymnasium in Bratislava with the active support of specialists in working with children from among compatriots.

Slovak language courses from March 1, 2022

The European Foundation of Slavic Literature and Culture is opening admission to Slovak language courses for beginners to learn the Slovak language and for those wishing to improve their knowledge and skills.
