August 19 Transfiguration of the Jesus Christ

According to wikipedia, the Greek word for transfiguration is metamorphosis. The icon, the time of worship and what to take to Church - the Word of God speaks very precisely about it.

One of the Greatest Christian Feasts, the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Jesus, is celebrated by Christians all over the world with great joy and encouragement. The essence of the event that formed the basis of this feast is completely open and simple, it is encapsulated in the very name of the feast. The Transfiguration of the Jesys was one of the brightest points of reference or the beginning of the realization of God's promises, as testified to in the Holy Scriptures. God Himself, through Peter and the two brothers, James and John, sends us all a perfect testimony of the marvelous salvation that is found in Jesus Christ.

Details about the event of the Transfiguration of Jesus Christ are written by the Evangelists Matthew (17:1-13), Luke (9:28-36) and Mark (9:2-12). Thus, having come to the countries of Caesarea Philippi and continuing to instruct and teach His disciples about what Jesus Christ was to accomplish in the approaching time, the Jesus does not hide from them "that He must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders, chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day rise again.

The disciples did not fully understand why He had to go through such sufferings and leave them, for in their eyes He was already the Son of the Almighty Living God Almighty. Through this purely human misunderstanding or confusion among the disciples, there was even a rebuke to Jesus Christ, which Satan used to create another temptation for the Savior, trying to delay the end of his all-encompassing power on earth. But the Jesus, having driven Satan away, hastened to calm and encourage His disciples, giving the true assurance that some of those present "shall not even taste death, but shall already see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom". When about six days had passed, being in Galilee, He took three of His disciples with Him and as usual went to the mountain - Tabor - to pray. When Christ began to pray, His disciples sat down to rest and fell asleep from the tiring ascent of the mountain, but soon awakened, observing how during Christ's prayer the Transfiguration of the Jesus took place and His face became "like the sun, and His garments became white as light. Moses and Elijah appeared to Him and the three of them talked about the events to come.

When the three disciples saw all these things, they were so encouraged that they rejoiced, and in accordance with common human customs and considerations, they proposed to the Lord to raise three tabernacles to commemorate this event - "One for you, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah. While they were still speaking, a cloud of light overshadowed them, and behold, a voice from the cloud said: "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; listen to him." This was the event in which God brought together and clearly and openly confirmed in one piece the law and the prophets and His promises to His disciples. A new time had come, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved. And now no one can call Jesus Lord but the Holy Spirit, whom God sends to instruct and teach us, fulfilling all His wonderful promises to those who do not abandon their trust in God.

God has already answered about images and icons, apples and honey, in analogy with the three tabernacles, which nevertheless became very popular in the tradition of this feast, and we remind you to listen to Him!

Congratulations to all Christians on the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Jesus!
