The Day of Friendship and Unity of the Slavs

Each year on the 25th of June, Slavs all over the world celebrate the Day of Friendship and Unity of the Slavs.

Celebrated since the 1990s, this holiday unites Slavs all over the world - 350 million people who live either in Slavic countries, or abroad. Slavic countries include Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Kosovo, Croatia and Slovenia.

This day is a great opportunity for all Slavic countries to celebrate what unites them - common roots, cultural traditions and customs.  During this holiday, many interesting cultural events are organized to preserve and revive Slavic traditions and culture, such as various festivals, concerts, theatre plays and dance performances.

Some museums and galleries open their doors to everyone on this day. People all over the world organize themed events and flash mobs or share kind words through social networks. Although the Day of Friendship and Unity of the Slavs is not an official public holiday, its celebrations are attended by the highest representatives of countries, foreign guests and cultural figures.

On the occasion of the Day of Friendship and Unity of the Slavs, we would like to express our best wishes to all Slavic people. We wish you all strong friendships, mutual understanding and peaceful skies above your heads.
