Day of Victory over fascism: 8 May.

Slovakia celebrates Victory Day over fascism.
The date May 8 refers to the anniversary of the surrender of Nazi Germany, which took effect on May 8, 1945, at 23:00. In some countries this day is also known as Victory in Europe Day.
The signing of Germany's surrender put an end to the greatest armed conflict in the history of mankind, but only in Europe. Fighting continued in the Far East and ended with the surrender of Japan on September 2, 1945, at 23:00.

"War does not have a woman's face" - the theme of a memory lesson

“War does not have a female face” under this title on April 25, 2023, an online memory lesson dedicated to the Victory Day in World War II was held at the European Foundation of Slavic Literature and Culture.
The students of the Russian language courses were asked to choose one of their favorite military films for self-study. From several films, students chose the famous film directed by Sergei Mokritsky "Battle for Sevastopol".

"Art in War, War in Art"

In Bratislava, at the European Foundation of Slavic Literature and Culture, the exhibition devoted to the Second World War "Art in War, War in Art" continues its work.
The exposition of the exhibition presents 97 graphic and pictorial works of fine arts, drawings of Japanese and German prisoners of war from the fund collection of the Yelabuga State Historical, Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve (Russia, Republic of Tatarstan, Yelabuga).

Thematic lesson "Chekhov: a writer or a doctor?"

April 5, 2023 at the Gymnasium. Ivan Horvat in Bratislava hosted a thematic lesson “Chekhov: a writer or a doctor?” Dedicated to the activities of Anton Pavlovich Chekhov, a brilliant prose writer and playwright.
The event was organized and hosted by the European Foundation for Slavic Literature and Culture. Its participants were teachers of the gymnasium and students studying the Russian language.
