Open lessons on the Russian language were held in the gymnasium named after Ivan Horvat

On the 1st of April 2019, in Bratislava, in the bilingual gymnasium named after Ivan Horvat, open Russian language classes took place on the theme “Russian language in my future”.

In April, open lessons and seminars are held in several European countries - Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Croatia and the Czech Republic in the framework of the international project “Russian Language for All”. The project was organized by the Charity Fund on the Promotional of Preserving the Cultural Heritage with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation.

The Russian Center of the European Foundation of Slavic Literature and Culture in Bratislava was the organizer of the project in Slovakia. The project was also supported by the organization of compatriots "Union of Russians in Slovakia" and Preshov University.

The main aim of the project is to popularize the Russian language and culture, to develop and demonstrate modern technologies in the field of teaching, and to implement them in the educational process.

Open lessons in the gymnasium were held in an interesting interactive and playful way. From the Russian specialists, gymnasium students learned about current trends in the development of the Russian language, the penetration of words from other languages and the information sphere, and the wide possibilities of using the Russian language in education, profession and travel.

 

The organizers presented interactive subjects that help in learning the language, in particular, the “living portraits” of Peter the Great and Catherine the Second. Each item has its own QR-code that, when scanned, for example, by a smartphone, appears image and sound, the portraits seem to tell their stories. Such innovations revived the interest of high school students.

Two senior classes of the Ivan Horvat gymnasium took part in the open lessons. At the end of the lesson, gymnasium students received certificates and interactive gifts.

In conclusion, there was a round table with the gymnasium teachers. Experts from Russia told in more detail about innovative teaching methods. At the end of the round table, teachers received manuals and handouts.
