Exhibition of Russian artists "Spring Melody of Flowers" in the city of Preshov

On the 28th of March 2017,in the city of Preshov, in the Russian House Gallery was opened the exhibition "Spring Melody of Flowers" by Russian artists Alexander Kabanov and Inna Barycheva.

Both of them were born in the families of artists. Since childhood, they grew up in a creative atmosphere, both graduated from creative institutes in Moscow and are the successors of the Russian school of painting. Over 25 years they have participated in various international exhibitions. Their works are in the collections of various museums - the State Geological Museum named after I. Vernadsky of Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow), Kaluga Art Museum (Russia), Art Museum of Kapusvar (Hungary), Local History Museum of Khmelnitsky (Ukraine), Art Museum of Chernovtsi (Ukraine), Kutuzov Museum in Slovakia.

On the exhibition were presented 36 works, among which there were many paintings depicting flowers and architecture of Russian cities. A big interest was caused by the works of Alexander, which were made in the technique of hot enamel.

The organizers of the exhibition were the Russian Center in Bratislava of the Russian World Foundation and the European Foundation of Slavic Literature and Culture. The city of Preshov was chosen by the organizers not by chance. This ancient Slavic city is located in the east of the country, it dates back to the 6th century and today is the third largest in Slovakia. The traditions of friendship with Russia are strong in the city.

The Russian house is located in the heart of the pedestrian zone of Preshov, it has beautiful exhibition areas. This is a legendary house, whose history began in 1925.

Director Mr. Stefan Sekerak asked the Russian Center in Bratislava with the request to assist in organizing the exhibition of Russian artists and was extremely pleased to see highly artistic works. His plans include the organization of tours on the exhibition, including for local students. The exhibition will be open for three months.
