International Folklore Festival "Slavica" and passing motorcyclists "Paths of Friendship Slavic"

4th and 5th July 2016 in the historic Slovak city of Nitra ranking eighth place in the International Folklore Festival "Slavica", which was within the city celebration of the feast "Nitra, dear Nitra".

July 5th is a holiday farmhouse in Slovakia, dedicated to the creator of the Slavic alphabet and Church Slavonic language, the Prior Christian Cyril and Methodius. Already every year these days in their honor held festival "Slavica" in Nitra, the city where he began his mission.

The festival program includes performances collectives from Slavic countries. The first day was held open air concert at Svätopluk Square in the center of Nitra, the second day of celebrations continued in the city park. Their programs came folklore ensembles from four countries: "Gostinec" from Russia, "Stepanovich Vuk Karadzic" from Serbia, "Spinning" from Slovakia, two sets of Russia "Belogorodskoje razdolje" and "Belye kamni".

Visitors greeted each file, sang together with them famous national song, supported extending loud applause.

The organizer of the festival is a civic organization "Slavica" with the participation of the Fund's support of the arts, administration Nitra region and social movement Slavic world. Employees of the Russian Centre and the European Fund of Slavic literacy and culture also attended celebration.

As part of the celebration was held an interesting event called "Paths of Friendship Slavic". Bikers from various clubs and countries have passed thousands of kilometres through the countries of Europe and gathered on the feast of Saints Cyril and Methodius in Nitra, the historic capital of the Great Moravian Empire. More than a hundred bikers on motorcycles went through three routes that lead through the ancient Slavic dwellings.

Route one of the groups led by the eastern route from Moscow to Nitra through Belarus in Minsk and Brest, Kraków, Great Moravian settlement in Mikulčice Czech Republic. The second group came to Nitra in western journeys starting in Germany from Cape Arkona through the Serbian town of Lausitz, the capital of the Czech Republic - via Prague, through a settlement Mikulčice. South road led through a third of Macedonia, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Austria, Czech Republic and Slovakia which ended in Nitra. Event was attended by bikers from the group "Night wolves" who carried out the way "Paths of Victory".

This peaceful action showed the world that the Slavs are back and fraternity do not want to forget its history, traditions and culture. Slaves also showed a desire to unify. It was demonstrated effort to unite the Slavic world, richness of common traditions and history, Slavic strength of twinning and peaceful principles Slavs. Finally celebrating bikers sat in city park linden and called it "Lipa Slavic Druzhba". Some bikers brought in bags pieces of native Slavic countries, each of his land and dumped them under commemorative tree.

At the celebration was attended by several thousand guests and residents of the city of Nitra, who chummy welcoming bikers and folklore groups. Everywhere was played music, which could be heard everywhere flourishing atmosphere of camaraderie. Present were the Slovak media.
