Opening of the International Cultural Forum in St. Petersburg

On the 16th of November 2017 in St. Petersburg was opened the VI International Cultural Forum. For six years, the forum has evolved from a small conference into a grand cultural event.

This year the forum was attended by 79 countries, including Slovakia. Japan and Kazakhstan at the same time had a special status of "guest country". There were registered 34 thousand participants on the forum in total.

The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin sent a message of greetings to the participants of the 6th St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum. In the telegram he noted: "The forum proved its relevance and became an authoritative platform for a direct, interested dialogue on topical issues of the development of the cultural and humanitarian spheres."

The main aim of the forum is to support various initiatives, cultural exchange and cooperation, in helping to promote Russian culture abroad.

The focus is on international cultural cooperation, professional problems of the film industry, theatre, circus, animation, librarianship and other spheres of culture.

Within the framework of the forum, various cultural events are planned, including the conference "Culture in the Revolution: The Revolution in Culture, 1917 - 2017",
