Визит спикера словацкого парламента Андрея Данко в Москву

In November 2017, Andrey Danko visited Moscow for the first time on an official visit as a chairman of the National Council of the Slovak Republic. He had previously repeatedly expressed the need to restore normal relations between the European Union and Russia and opposed the anti-Russian sanctions.

"Peace is impossible without a strong Russia. You are an integral part of world security, whether someone likes it or not. Stability in Europe cannot be built without world powers, " Danko said at a plenary session in the State Duma.

The Speaker of the Slovak Parliament expressed gratitude for all the sacrifices of Soviet soldiers who died in the territory of Slovakia and emphasized that the country cares about the monuments of the times of the Great Patriotic War. "Slovakia has always respected the heroism of the Soviet soldiers who fought on the territory of our country," said the head of the National Council.

The politician also stressed that Russia is one of Slovakia's most important trading partners. In recent years, the trade turnover between the countries has grown, cooperation in the field of education and culture is also in progress. In this regard, the politician reminded the agreement on mutual recognition of diplomas of universities in Slovakia and Russia.

"The fact that Slovakia will reciprocally recognize diplomas and expand the exchange is encouraging." It's a matter of prestige to study at your universities, which are the best, " Andrey Danko said. Also, he said, that Slovakia is interested in developing the teaching of the Russian language. "Knowledge of languages brings people together and opens up new opportunities. The parliamentarian is sure that if people will understand each other, the peoples will come together and there will be no problems".

Andrey Danko appealed on Russian deputies to "develop the Slavic world." According to the head of the Slovak National Council, this is an exclusive association, which was not accidental. The sense of belonging to it, as it was noted by Danko, allows us to overcome difficult periods in history.
